The Team:

The German business tax team in USI is engaged in preparation and reviews of various type of corporate entities in Germany which includes tax reporting, tax returns, DWT returns, law firm tax return submissions etc. We are a team with professionals of varying experience and skills in tax technical, the team is involved in training, onboarding, work allocations, process improvement/documentation etc.

The Role:

The EMO (Engagement Management Office) Senior Manager oversees client tax engagement lifecycles, ensuring exceptional delivery for both direct and indirect tax projects. The role coordinates between client teams and internal stakeholders, ensures compliance with German statutory/regulatory requirements, manages project timelines, and drives process improvements. Responsible for end-to-end engagement management, including project economics, risk and compliance, and client communications. Acts as a liaison between client leadership and Deloitte teams, ensuring service quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities include: -

Guided assistance to Deloitte Member Firms to support

Drive strategy and quality for the delivery of direct and indirect tax engagements. Lead teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and embed operational excellence

  • Set project scope, allocate resources, and monitor quality/risk metrics.
  • Serve as escalation point for major clients/issues.
  • Partners with Directors and Partners on business development.
  • Lead innovation initiatives in digital tax engagement management.
  • Oversees VAT returns, indirect tax filings, and risk management for German entities.
  • Advises on indirect tax process transformation.
  • Manages corporate tax compliance, advisory, and German tax law updates.
  • Coordinates relationship between headquarters and regional Germany teams.

Qualifications Required:

  • Full time master’s degree in finance or equivalent from reputed university
  • 10+ years’ experience, with significant exposure to complex, high-value cross-border tax engagements.
  • Proven leadership and strategic thinking.

Work Location: Hyderabad || Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM IST.
