Manager Payroll Key Responsibilities: Execute accurate, timely payroll for all staff members. Maintain and update detailed, confidential payroll records and databases. Ensure adherence to required payroll regulations, as well as university-specific policies and legal requirements in both academic and non-academic areas. Generate and analyze payroll reports for internal audits and external regulatory compliance. Stay current on legislative changes affecting payroll and private university operations, adapting processes accordingly. Work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure policy compliance. Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees. Assist with benefits administration and coordination with external vendors, particularly during system upgrades or audits. Qualifications & Requirements: Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. Minimum of 5 - 6 years of payroll processing experience; prior experience in a higher education environment or a similar complex organization is highly desirable. In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards, including those unique to academic institutions. Proficiency with payroll software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
