Job Description

Role: Tableau Admin Duration: Long term contract with our direct client Location: Remote End-to-End Tableau Platform Management: Oversee the health, security, and performance of our entire Tableau ecosystem, including user administration, content management, and strategic platform evolution. SAP HANA Integration & Optimization: Serve as the subject matter expert for Tableau's integration with SAP HANA. Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity, data extract, and live connection issues. Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize HANA views and data models for efficient consumption by Tableau. Advanced Performance Tuning & Optimization: Conduct comprehensive performance audits of Tableau workbooks and dashboards using tools like the Performance Recorder and log analyzers. Implement and enforce best practices for efficient workbook design, including optimizing calculations, reducing marks, and effective use of filters and parameters. Analyze and tune data source performance, including optimizing custom SQL, promoting the use of efficient connection types, and implementing effective data extract strategies. Work with developers and analysts to refactor and improve the performance of mission-critical dashboards, ensuring a fast and reliable user experience. Comprehensive Tableau Cloud Setup & Administration: Lead the architecture and administration of our Tableau Cloud environment, including strategic site creation, project organization, and content governance. Implement and manage robust user provisioning and security models, including single sign-on (SSO) integration and granular permissions. Monitor Tableau Cloud usage, performance metrics, and backgrounder/extract refresh schedules to ensure platform stability and resource optimization. Manage the Tableau Bridge client for seamless data connectivity between Tableau Cloud and on-premises data sources. Stay current with the Tableau Cloud release schedule and implement new features to enhance our analytics capabilities. User Enablement & Support: Develop and maintain documentation on best practices, provide training to business users, and act as the highest level of technical support for the Tableau platform.
