Position Overview
Alteryx is seeking a Systems Engineer (Identity & Systems Engineering) to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable authentication experiences. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and automation who thrives in a code-first, cloud-focused environment.You’ll join a team that automates everything — from deployments to integrations — using Python, PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform, while upholding the highest standards in security, governance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and enhance Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory (full user lifecycle, Conditional Access, security automation).
- Implement and maintain modern authentication (SAML, OIDC, OAuth) and secure access policies.
- Manage enterprise Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange Online, and Slack environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for infrastructure and automation.
- Create custom integrations across SaaS/PaaS platforms via APIs.
- Automate infrastructure management using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Event-Driven Ansible.
- Monitor and optimize cloud platforms (AWS primary, plus Azure, GCP) with CloudWatch and automated alerting.
- Maintain high-quality infrastructure documentation.
- Contribute to Agile sprints with a focus on automation, efficiency, and quality.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and quality control.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Identity Management: 6+ years with Microsoft Entra ID & Active Directory in enterprise environments.
- Authentication Protocols: Expertise in SAML, OIDC, OAuth.
- Messaging & Collaboration: 6+ years with Microsoft 365.
- Automation & Scripting: Advanced skills in PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
- API Integration: Proven experience building SaaS/PaaS integrations.
- Agile Methodology: Proficient in Agile workflows, sprint planning, and task tracking.
Preferred Skills
- JavaScript development for integrations.
- Ansible Automation: Advanced experience with workflows, templates, and Event-Driven Ansible
- CI/CD & GitOps: 3+ years with GitLab pipelines, merges, and approvals.
- Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Multi-Cloud Knowledge: Azure and GCP in addition to AWS.
- Monitoring Tools: AWS CloudWatch dashboards, metrics, and automation.
- AI Integration: Embedding AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) into automation pipelines.
- Security & Compliance: Understanding of industry compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Collaboration Tools: Jira, Confluence, and documentation best practices.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
