Job Purpose/ Summary

The Support – RM – QC role in the Steel Rolling Mill is responsible for assisting in the management of raw materials and ensuring quality control throughout the rolling process. The position involves coordinating with procurement for material availability, supporting quality inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The role plays a key part in maintaining consistent product quality and smooth plant operations.

Raw Material (RM. Support:

Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely availability of raw materials (billets, ingots, etc..Track and report daily RM consumption and stock levels.Ensure RM quality meets internal specifications before processing.Maintain RM documentation, test certificates, and supplier quality records.

Quality Control (QC. Support

Assist in implementing quality control procedures at each stage of rolling operations.Support QC team in sample collection, inspection, and testing of materials.Record and report deviations or quality non-conformities to the concerned department.Maintain documentation related to inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.

Rolling Mill Process Monitoring

Monitor process parameters and provide support to ensure compliance with rolling mill standards.Assist in identifying process improvements and contribute to product quality enhancement.

Data Management & Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for RM usage, quality status, and inspection outcomes.Support audits and maintain compliance-related documentation.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE.

Follow and promote all safety guidelines in handling raw materials and while working in QC areas.Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the HSE team promptly.

Principal Accountabilities

The Support – RM – QC role in the Steel Rolling Mill is responsible for assisting in the coordination and management of raw materials and ensuring quality control throughout the rolling process. The individual will work closely with the procurement and stores teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and verify their quality before processing. They will support the Quality Control team in conducting inspections, sample testing, and maintaining detailed records of quality checks and raw material certifications. The role involves monitoring production parameters, reporting any deviations in quality, and ensuring that all processes comply with internal standards and safety guidelines. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for preparing daily reports on raw material consumption and quality status, assisting in audit readiness, and maintaining documentation as per plant and compliance requirements.
