Supervisor

Job Title: Supervisor – Production & Operations Department: Production Location : Domjur Howrah Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Head Job Purpose To oversee and manage day-to-day production operations in the chemical manufacturing unit, ensuring adherence to production targets, quality standards, safety norms, and regulatory compliance. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Production Management**   * Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities to meet output targets.   * Monitor process parameters, machinery performance, and manpower utilization.   * Coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and warehouse teams for smooth operations. 2. **Quality & Process Control**   * Ensure production is as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch records.   * Work closely with the Quality Control team to address quality deviations.   * Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce wastage. 3. **Safety & Compliance**   * Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and chemical handling guidelines.   * Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as Pollution Control Board norms and factory safety regulations.   * Conduct safety drills and toolbox talks regularly. 4. **Team Supervision**   * Allocate tasks and monitor performance of shift operators and helpers.   * Provide on-the-job training for equipment operation, safety measures, and process knowledge.   * Maintain discipline and resolve team issues promptly. 5. **Reporting & Documentation**   * Maintain production logs, shift reports, and downtime analysis records.   * Prepare monthly production reports and submit to management.   * Ensure proper documentation for audits and inspections. --- ### **Required Skills & Competencies** * Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, plant machinery, and process parameters. * Understanding of safety regulations, hazardous material handling, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) norms. * Good leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work under pressure in shift-based operations. * Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP preferred). --- **Qualifications & Experience** * Diploma / B.Sc / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or related field. * 3–6 years of experience in production supervision in a chemical manufacturing plant.
