Job Description

Seeking a senior structural engineering professional with deep expertise in tunnel design and underground structures to lead design, review, and engineering for major infrastructure projects. The role involves end-to-end engineering oversight, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and providing expert guidance during planning, detailed design, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead structural design and analysis for tunnels and underground works (transport, metro, water, hydro, mining, etc.).
Prepare and/or review design calculations, structural drawings, technical specifications, and design reports .
Provide technical leadership in the development of alignment design, lining design, support systems, segmental design, and associated civil structures.
Perform design checks, proof engineering, and detailed design reviews in line with project standards and codes.
Coordinate with geotechnical experts, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure safety and performance.
Evaluate construction methodologies , risk assessment, and support the development of tunnel execution plans .
Support client and stakeholder interactions including technical presentations, clarifications, and design approvals .
Ensure compliance with national and international codes/standards , safety guidelines, and quality protocols.
Provide technical support during construction including resolution of site queries, design deviations, and change management.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

Proven expertise in design of TBM tunnels, NATM tunnels, cut-and-cover structures, metro tunnels, headrace tunnels, caverns, and shafts .
Hands-on capability with structural design and finite element modelling software (e.g., PLAXIS, MIDAS, FLAC, STAAD, Abaqus or equivalent).
Strong understanding of geotechnical behaviour of rock/soil masses and selection of support and stabilisation systems .
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and technical leadership abilities.
Ability to work independently and drive deliverables within defined time, cost, and quality targets.
