Job Description

Job Summary

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and quality execution of all structural activities related to Over Head Service Reservoirs (OHSR), Over Head Tanks (OHT), and Underground Reservoirs (UGR). The role involves reviewing drawings, monitoring site works, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with design, standards, and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Review & Drawing Interpretation

  • Study and interpret structural drawings, GFC drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with the design team for clarifications, revisions, or changes.
  • Verify structural details of foundation, column, raft, dome, container, and staging.

2. Supervision of Structural Works

  • Monitor all RCC activities: excavation, PCC, footing, raft, columns, beams, slabs, dome, wall, roof, and internal partitions.
  • Ensure accuracy of reinforcement placement, cover blocks, laps, bends, and anchorage.
  • Check formwork/shuttering quality, staging stability, scaffolding, and alignment.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure construction follows IS codes, structural drawings, and engineering standards.
  • Conduct or supervise cube sampling, slump tests, reinforcement inspection, and shuttering inspections before concreting.
  • Review and close consultant remarks (IRs/NCRs).

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with Project Manager, Site Engineers, Quality teams, and contractors.
  • Attend consultant/client inspections and provide technical justifications when required.
  • Ensure smooth execution of reinforcement cutting, bending, and placing as per BBS.

5. Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure safe execution of structural works, especially at height and during lifting operations.
  • Identify and mitigate structural safety risks, staging instabilities, or concreting load issues.

6. Documentation

  • Maintain structural inspection reports, quality documents, pour cards, cube results, and material approvals.
  • Prepare technical reports and assist in billing quantities related to RCC works.

7. Problem-Solving

  • Resolve on-site technical issues such as reinforcement clashes, shuttering corrections, structural deviations, and construction sequence conflicts.
  • Recommend technical solutions and ensure structural integrity is maintained.

Eligibility & Experience Required

  • B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in water retaining structures (OHSR, OHT, ESR, UGR, STP tanks, WTP structures).
  • Strong knowledge of RCC design concepts, shuttering/staging systems, reinforcement detailing, and construction methodology.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
