Steward

A senior steward is responsible for supervising and ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of a hospitality environment like a kitchen or dining area. Key responsibilities include leading a team of stewards, maintaining health and safety standards, managing inventory, training junior staff, and coordinating with other departments like culinary and housekeeping.  Leadership and team management Supervise and lead the stewarding team, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to company standards. Provide training and mentoring to junior stewards. Evaluate the performance of stewards. Coordinate with the culinary and service staff to ensure seamless operations.  Operational and maintenance duties Implement and maintain cleaning schedules and procedures for all kitchen and dining areas.  Ensure all equipment, utensils, and facilities are clean and properly maintained.  Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.  Oversee the stocking and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment.  Manage inventory and place orders for necessary supplies.  Safety and sanitation Uphold and enforce all health and safety standards. Ensure all food and beverage handling areas are hygienic. Have knowledge of chemicals and hazardous supplies.  Guest and staff support Assist with guest inquiries or concerns related to cleanliness and service.  Help with basic food preparation and plating when needed.  Coordinate with other staff, such as housekeepers, to ensure all needs are met, like the transport of linen.
