Team Overview

CoreOperations Surgical Pod: The pod will be responsible to deliver consistent, well-

documented and repeatable operational maintenance tasks with the scope of

business requirements including:

 System Infrastructure Maintenance

o Scheduled application patching, system updates, and certificate

renewals.

o Execution of backup/restore procedures as per documented SOPs.

 Tooling & Monitoring Operations

o Maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and basic health

checks.

o Respond to alerts by following documented runbooks for first-level

remediation.

 SaaS and Endpoint Automations

o Enhance and run automated user account provisioning/deprovisioning

scripts (no direct user interaction).

o Manage license allocations and renewals via automation.

 Documentation & Reporting

o Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all

tasks.

o Provide weekly/monthly reports of executed tasks, issues encountered,

and remediations performed.

 Automate and maintain routine infrastructure tasks, reducing manual workload

for BizTech Global Operations.

 Standardize and create operational runbooks.

 Enhance system reliability through proactive monitoring, alerting, and pre-

approved remediation steps

The expectations on the resources filling these roles are:

 Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and

configuration management with Chef, in alignment with requirements

specified by Airbnb.

 Implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines leveraging tools such as Jenkins

and Argo CD, based on the standards and frameworks provided by Airbnb.

 Automate workflows and operational tasks using Python and shell scripting

(Bash or equivalent).

 Manage and orchestrate containerized workloads using Kubernetes.

 Administer version control using Git, and promote best practices for source

code management.

 Support scalable deployments and ensure system reliability within cloud

environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

 Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and service issues,

maintaining a proactive approach to incident prevention.

 Maintain and improve documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures,

ensuring alignment with Airbnb’s documentation standards as communicated

to the vendor.

Baseline Qualifications:

 7-10 years of experience in a System Engineering, SRE, or DevOps role.

 Proficiency in Python for automation and tooling.

 Strong experience with Bash or other shell scripting languages.

 Hands-on experience with Terraform, Chef, Git, and Kubernetes.

 Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

 Familiarity with Linux system administration and networking concepts.

 Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.

 Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana,

ELK).

 Understanding of container security and network policies in Kubernetes.

 Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
