Sr. Design Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Lead mechanical design and development of components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD). Translate product requirements and customer needs into robust engineering solutions. Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and DFMEA to ensure design integrity. Generate 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams for design feasibility, cost optimization, and DFM/DFA practices. Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and validation in line with design intent. Handle design changes (ECR/ECN process) and product improvement initiatives. Mentor junior design engineers and support their technical development. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, etc.). Participate in design reviews and support project timelines and deliverables. Required Qualifications: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (M.E. / M.Tech is a plus). 5–6 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, industrial machinery, or consumer products.
