Job Description

WHAT WE DO AND WHO WE ARE

Join the dynamic team at Wholsum Foods and be part of an extraordinary movement! Our mission is simple: to change the world's eats. With brands like Slurrp Farm and Mille, we offer healthy and delicious alternatives to the junk food epidemic. It's time to rediscover the nutritious traditions of our ancestors and embrace the power of millets like Ragi, Jowar, Bajra, and Foxtail Millet.

Led by founders - Shauravi Malik and Meghana Narayan, we are food enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and mothers committed to making a difference. We're expanding globally and seeking talented individuals who thrive in a collaborative, innovative, and high-growth environment. Join us and embark on a rewarding journey where you can grow professionally while having a blast!

At Wholsum Foods, we celebrate diversity and unity, all driven by a shared mission to revolutionize the way we eat. Our team is our greatest asset, and our core values—Relationship First, Dependable, Passionate, and Growth Mindset—bring out the best in each team member. We take pride in being an equal opportunity workplace, embracing individuals regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or gender identity. Together, we will redefine the future of food!

We are also Great Place to Work Certified.

Role Overview:

We need someone who can tell our story well - to customers, to our team, to the media, to partners and investors.

This role leads both external and internal communications at Wholsum Foods. You'll be responsible for how we communicate across all stakeholder groups and platforms, making sure our message is clear, consistent, and true to who we are, whether it's media outreach, an internal update, or a customer-facing communication.

You'll need to write clearly, think strategically about messaging, and be comfortable managing multiple projects without losing sight of quality. You must genuinely care about food, nutrition, and our mission to change the way the world eats.

If you're the type who gets excited about finding the right words and building real connections (not just sending press releases into the void), this might be for you.

Key Responsibilities:

External Communications:

  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets; pitch stories proactively, respond to queries, and position Wholsum Foods as a credible voice in the food and nutrition space
  • Write and edit all external-facing materials: press releases, media responses, briefing notes, speaking points, reports, and presentations that need to go to partners, investors, or the public
  • Manage our LinkedIn presence - create and execute an organic content strategy, schedule posts, write copy, and keep the page active and engaging
  • Lead organic influencer seeding and earned media initiatives through strategic PR collaborations
  • Manage crisis communication; respond quickly, transparently, and in a way that stays true to our brand, even under pressure
  • Track PR performance and media coverage, analyze what's working (and what isn't), and use those insights to improve future efforts
  • Liaise with our PR agency to ensure the overall strategy aligns with business goals and brand voice

Executive Communications:

  • Support the leadership team’s LinkedIn presence - draft posts around launches, milestones, thought leadership, and industry trends that position them as credible voices in the space

  • Prepare leaders for external interactions - write talking points, key messages, and briefing materials for media interviews, investor meetings, and public appearances

  • Maintain essential executive communication tools, including the company factsheet, PR database, and FAQs

Internal Communications:

  • Own the quarterly internal newsletter end-to-end; work with the HR team to plan content and timelines, write the first draft and proof all sections, coordinate with interviewees and stakeholders for contributions, work with the creative team on design, and ensure it's published on schedule
  • Draft organization-level announcements - whether it's a new milestone, company update, or important change, make sure the message is clear and lands well

What You'll Need:

  • 3–5 years in PR, corporate communications, or a similar role where you've actually done this work (not just observed it)
  • You can write. Clearly, compellingly, and quickly. You know the difference between a good story and a corporate update that no one will read
  • Experience managing media relationships and working with PR agencies. You understand what makes a story worth covering, you've built relationships with journalists beyond one-off pitches, and you know how to brief and hold agencies accountable for results
  • Strong project management instincts - you can juggle the newsletter, a media query, LinkedIn posts, and a founder's panel prep without dropping anything or losing your mind
  • You're comfortable working with senior leadership and asking the right questions to get what you need, even when they're busy
  • The ability to switch between audiences without losing your voice; what works for employees won't work for investors, and you know how to adjust without sounding like a different company
