Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts

]Reporting To: Finance Manager / Managing Director

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounting operations, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. This role involves overseeing daily accounting functions, preparing financial statements, handling audits, and supporting management with financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries.
  • Review and reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual returns (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.).
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
  • Support statutory and internal audit processes by providing accurate documentation.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and financial forecasting.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to financial policies and approval limits.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Manage petty cash and oversee payment processing.

Team & Coordination:

  • Supervise junior accountants and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.
  • Coordinate with other departments (HR, Admin, Procurement) for financial documentation and reporting.
  • Support management with MIS reports and financial presentations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP / SAP / QuickBooks and MS Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
