Job Title :

SQL Database Administrator (DBA) - Support

Experience :

5 - 15 Years

Responsibilities :

Provide day-to-day support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances in production and non-production environments.
Perform database backups, recovery, migration, and restoration activities.
Monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize indexing/partitioning strategies.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning (Always On, clustering, replication, log shipping, mirroring).
Manage user access, roles, and security policies to safeguard data.
Automate routine tasks using scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell, etc.).
Handle incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis for database-related issues.
Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to support business applications.
Document database configurations, processes, and standard operating Skills :
Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server administration Experience with backup & recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions, and replication technologies.
Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
Good knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and networking concepts.
Hands-on experience in database security, auditing, and compliance.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and teamwork to Have :
Exposure to NoSQL / other RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Knowledge of automation frameworks / DevOps tools.
Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server / Azure Database.
