The Colleague Labor Relations (CLR) team partners with business leaders to resolve workplace issues, elevate colleague experience, and uphold a strong risk and compliance culture. This role contributes to creating a fair and consistent colleague experience that supports business performance while delivering the high- quality colleague and labor relations solutions.
How You Will Make an Impact This role is pivotal in providing expert Colleague Relations support and guidance to leaders and colleagues. Success will be measured not only by issue resolution but also by enabling a stronger leadership culture and proactive risk management.
Key responsibilities include: Workplace investigations Case Management
Serve as a trusted advisor on complex CLR matters including grievances, disciplinary actions, exits/terminations. Conduct fair and timely workplace investigations ensuring compliance with laws and American Express standards while balancing colleague advocacy with business needs.
Risk Management Capability Building Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate colleague-related risks that could impact the business or colleague experience. Partner with compliance and legal teams to manage regulatory risks, labor law changes, and workplace conduct issues. Contribute to building a strong risk-aware culture by supporting/leading initiatives that enhance colleague trust and manager capability, including manager coaching, CLR training programs, and proactive interventions that reduce risks to the Company.
Policy Development Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain CEG policies aligned with local labor laws and internal frameworks. Provide guidance on policies and ensure consistent application across the business.
Stakeholder Engagement Change Management Collaborate with Colleague Service Partners, Legal, and senior leaders on CLR matters, including restructuring initiatives Ensure effective communication and smooth execution of organizational changes.
Global Collaboration and Innovate for impact Work with regional/global CLR teams to harmonize CLR practices, adopt best practices, and influence global/local policy evolution. Leverage technology, data insights, and global CLR practices to proactively address trends and enhance CLR frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications - 3-5 years preferably in Colleague Relations, Grievance Handling, Compliances, Organizational restructuring
- LLB/ LLM (Employment Law)
Location: Bangalore, however must be open to relocate to Chennai in near future
Key skills Competencies - Strong expertise in employee/colleague relations, case management, investigations, report writing, exits management
- In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Advanced data analytics skills to interpret CLR trends, and case insights;
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills to guide leaders on sensitive CLR matters.
- Proven ability to balance colleague advocacy with business priorities while driving fair and consistent outcomes
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, multitasking, simplify complexity, and drive outcomes in high-pressure, confidential, and evolving situations
- Must have experience on executive presentations storytelling, project management, policy implementation, and strategic communication
