Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Instruction & Classroom SupportDeliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and other special needs. Modify and adapt the general curriculum to match diverse learning styles and abilities. Use specialized methodologies such as multisensory instruction, differentiated learning, and assistive technology. Maintain an inclusive, structured, and safe classroom environment. 2. Assessment & DocumentationConduct assessments to understand each student’s abilities, challenges, and progress. Develop, update, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress. Prepare reports for parent meetings, audits, and regulatory compliance. 3. Collaboration & CommunicationWork collaboratively with general education teachers to facilitate inclusive learning. Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and strategies. Coordinate with therapists, counselors, and other specialists for holistic student support. Participate in IEP meetings, review sessions, and staff development programs. 4. Behavioral & Emotional SupportImplement Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs). Teach social, communication, and life-skills-based strategies. Manage classroom behavior using appropriate interventions and reinforcements. 5. Professional DevelopmentStay updated on current practices, laws, and methodologies in special education. Attend training programs, workshops, and professional development sessions. Qualifications (Mandatory)B.Ed. in Special Education is required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. Valid teaching certification as per local/state requirements. Experience working with children with special needs is preferred. Preferred SkillsStrong understanding of learning disabilities and developmental differences. Proficiency in IEP development and progress monitoring tools. Familiarity with assistive learning devices and adaptive materials. Excellent communication, empathy, patience, and classroom management skills.
