Job Description

Job Title: South Indian Commis 1 (Commi 1)

Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef / Executive Chef

Job Summary:

Commis 1 (South Indian Cuisine) is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining quality, hygiene, and consistency in the food, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations under the guidance of senior chefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes (e.g., dosa, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, chutneys).
  • Ensure mise-en-place is ready for service.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Monitor food stock and report low inventory levels.
  • Follow standard recipes and portion sizes.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all food items.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and support juniors.
  • Comply with all food safety and sanitation regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in South Indian cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Good communication and time management skills.

Job Title: South Indian Commis 2 (Commi 2)

Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Commi 1 / Chef de Partie

Job Summary:

Commis 2 assists in the preparation of South Indian dishes and ensures that the kitchen operations run smoothly by supporting the Commis 1 and other senior chefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing South Indian food items under supervision.
  • Prepare basic ingredients (e.g., chopping vegetables, grinding masalas).
  • Keep workstations clean and organized.
  • Follow instructions from Commis 1 and senior chefs.
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Support in stock handling and proper food storage.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in South Indian cooking.
  • Basic knowledge of South Indian food preparation.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the kitchen team.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
