As a Sous Chef at Baywatch Resort in Sernabatim, South Goa, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen team, supporting the Executive Chef in managing daily operations. Your responsibilities will include supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and presentation, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. During peak hours, you will take charge of the kitchen to ensure smooth service. **Key Responsibilities:** - Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and high standards of hygiene. - Assign tasks and oversee kitchen operations for efficiency. - Oversee food preparation to the highest standard, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation. - Monitor and manage kitchen stock levels, minimizing food waste and maintaining fresh ingredients. - Ensure kitchen equipment is clean and well-maintained, enforcing health and safety standards. - Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and quality control. - Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef, managing timelines and communication with front-of-house staff. **Qualifications:** - Education: Formal culinary education (e.g., Culinary Arts degree) or equivalent experience. - Experience: 3-5 years in a professional kitchen, with 1-2 years in a leadership role. - Knowledge: Expertise in food preparation, kitchen equipment, inventory management, and food safety regulations. - Skills: Strong leadership, multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
