Role Overview: As a sourcing and procurement expert within the garment or textile industry, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for raw materials while ensuring cost savings targets are met through effective negotiation and value engineering. You will be expected to maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manage procurement processes, monitor quality standards, and coordinate inventory and supply chain activities. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan for raw materials, including fabrics, threads, zippers, buttons, labels, and interlinings. - Identify, evaluate, select, and onboard new suppliers globally based on capability, cost, quality, and reliability. - Review and process purchase requisitions, issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), and coordinate with shipping and logistics for timely delivery. - Achieve cost savings targets through effective negotiation, value engineering, and strategic sourcing without compromising quality. - Collaborate with the Quality Control department to establish quality standards for materials and ensure supplier compliance with the company's code of conduct. - Work closely with inventory/store managers to maintain optimal stock levels and implement inventory reduction strategies. Qualifications Required: - Education: Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement within the garment or textile industry. - Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fabrics, trims, accessories, garment construction, and garment testing protocols. - System Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
