Sourcing & Business Development Manager (In-Person, Surat)

The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners to build new business for the company. This candidate will be focused and have strong communication skills. They should be able to think critically when making plans and have a demonstrated ability to execute a particular strategy. 

This is a strategic sourcing role, not a purchase-order or coordinator role.

We’re looking for someone who can think like an owner, evaluate new product ideas from a sourcing and cost lens, and build long-term supplier relationships. You will play a key role in deciding what we should (and should not) supply, with whom, and at what cost. You’ll work closely with the founder and act as the India-side lead for sourcing and supplier decisions.

🔹 New Supplier & Vertical Exploration (Primary)

• Research and identify suppliers for new product categories and materials
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, scalability, quality, and reliability
• Lead early conversations and supplier discovery independently

🔹 Costing & Feasibility Analysis

• Build detailed costing and feasibility sheets (unit cost, MOQs, tooling, lead times)
• Compare suppliers and recommend the most viable options
• Support margin and pricing decisions with data

🔹 Sampling & Supplier Evaluation

• Coordinate samples for new products
• Evaluate quality, finish, durability, and consistency
• Manage iterations and help finalize supplier onboarding

🔹 Supplier Relationship Building

• Build and manage long-term relationships with key suppliers
• Handle negotiations around pricing, MOQs, and timelines
• Act as a trusted point of contact for suppliers

🔹 Ongoing Supplier Coordination (Secondary)

• Support coordination for repeat orders, packaging, stickers, and consumables
• Ensure continuity once suppliers are onboarded
  

• 3 – 5 years experience in sourcing, supplier development, procurement, or manufacturing
• Comfortable making independent decisions and recommendations
• Strong analytical skills (Excel / Google Sheets for costing & comparisons)
• Confident communicator who can push back when needed
• Curious about how products are made and how supply chains work
• Willing to work full-time, in-person from Surat
