Job Title: Site Manager – Solar (Ground Mounted Projects)

Location: Multiple Site locations in AP, TG and KA

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Site Manager to lead the execution of large-scale solar ground-mounted projects. The Site Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end site operations, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.

This is a leadership role requiring a senior professional with 10+ years of experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead diverse teams on complex solar projects.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the execution of solar projects from site mobilization to commissioning.
  • Plan and organize site resources (manpower, materials, equipment) for efficient operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

Technical Oversight

  • Interpret and execute electrical, civil, and structural drawings.
  • Oversee installation of solar PV modules, mounting structures, transformers, inverters, and BoS components.
  • Monitor cabling, switchyard, transmission line works, and grid interconnection.
  • Perform inspections, quality checks, and acceptance tests.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, NEC, MNRE guidelines, and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor work quality and resolve non-conformities.

Project Controls & Reporting

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules (MS Project/Primavera).
  • Track progress, prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports, and escalate issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities and approvals.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary contact at site for project managers, clients, and consultants.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and local authorities.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and compliance with contracts.

Commercial & Administrative

  • Monitor site expenses and material consumption.
  • Verify contractor bills and reconcile materials.
  • Manage logistics, storage, and site-level administration.

Commissioning & Handover

  • Lead acceptance testing and grid synchronization.
  • Ensure documentation and handover to clients and O&M teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of site execution experience, with at least 8 years in solar ground-mounted projects.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV plant construction, HT/LT systems, and grid interconnection.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and multiple contractors.
  • Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Safety certifications (OSHA, First Aid, etc.) preferred.
  • Electrical Standards: IEC, NEC, IS codes, IEEE guidelines
  • MNRE (India) or local renewable energy authority requirements
  • Willingness to be stationed full-time at project sites (including remote areas).
