Solar Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Solar System Designer with strong expertise in designing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems using advanced software tools. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with PVsyst and other solar design software to create efficient and cost-effective solar energy solutions. You will be responsible for system sizing, energy yield analysis, layout design, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Utilize PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design tools for system simulation and performance analysis.
• Conduct shading analysis, energy yield assessments, and feasibility studies for proposed solar installations.
• Prepare technical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and layout plans for solar PV projects.
• Evaluate site conditions using satellite imagery, drone surveys, and on-site assessments.
• Optimize system sizing, panel placement, inverter selection, and electrical configurations to maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and safety guidelines (e.g., NEC, IEC, NABCEP).
• Generate detailed reports and documentation for clients, investors, and regulatory bodies.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology, energy storage, and industry trends.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in solar PV system design.
• Proficiency in PVsyst and at least one of the following: Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar solar design software.
• Strong understanding of solar panel technologies, inverters, and BOS (Balance of System) components.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, grid integration, and net metering policies.
• Ability to analyze technical data, shading effects, and performance losses.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
