Job Title:
Senior Quality Engineer (Automation & Manual Testing)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team, with a strong background in automation testing using Selenium and expertise in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber framework. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of software testing principles, excellent manual testing skills, and the ability to work effectively in both automated and manual testing capacities. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our software applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the development of our testing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, focusing on functional and regression testing
- Utilize BDD framework (Cucumber) to create and execute automated tests, ensuring test coverage and reliability
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and prioritize testing requirements, and develop test plans and strategies
- Execute manual testing as needed, including exploratory testing, usability testing, and ad-hoc testing
- Analyze and report defects, providing detailed descriptions and steps to reproduce issues
- Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve defects, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on product quality
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure to support testing efforts
- Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software testing and automation
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation testing using Selenium
- Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver, including Java or other programming languages
- Experience with BDD framework (Cucumber) and behavior-driven development principles
- Excellent manual testing skills, with the ability to create test cases, test plans, and test scripts
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
- Experience working in agile development environments, with familiarity with Scrum or Kanban methodologies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a flexible and proactive approach to testing
Nice to Have:
- Experience with other automation tools and frameworks, such as Appium, TestNG, or JUnit
- Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms, such as Sauce Labs or TestObject
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins or other continuous integration tools
- Certification in software testing, such as ISTQB or CSTE
