The Platform Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of Salesforce solutions. Key Responsibilities: Ways of Working – Adoption of the Agile ways of working in the software delivery lifecycle and continuous learning of new methods and technology Technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of Salesforce to ensures that projects meet’s or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements Reviews solution designs and related code. Investigate and resolve production management incidents, problems, and service requests. Excellent organizational and coordination skills. Ability to work both independently and with a team. Experience in Insurance industry is plus. Candidate Qualifications: Education: Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent Experience: Minimum 6+ years of experience in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of Salesforce development. Hands-on experience in design, build, and deploy custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and other Salesforce development tools Hands-on experience in integrating Salesforce with external systems Proficient in Apex (Salesforce's proprietary language), Visualforce, and understanding of JavaScript and HTML Deep understanding of Salesforce core functionalities, including objects, fields, relationships, workflows, and security settings Experience in developing and implementing applications using modern technology stack and patterns including cloud native patterns, public cloud (e.g. Microsoft Azure), AI/Big Data, API and web/mobile apps Experience in developing mission critical applications, highly resilient, secure and performant from scratch in a complex and regulated environments will be an added advantage Proficiency in software development lifecycle including CI/CD, test driven development, domain driven design and Agile ways of working (including shift-left) Skills and Competencies: Competencies Communication: Ability to communicate effectively to ensure results are achieved Collaboration: Proven track record collaborating and working effectively in a global and multi-cultural environment (e.g. Japanese) Diverse environment: Can-do attitude and ability to work in a high paced environment Tech Stack Development & Delivery Methods: Agile (Scaled Agile Framework) DevOps and CI/CD: CI/CD (Azure DevOps) Development Frameworks and Languages: Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC),JavaScript, Aura Framework Data Management: Database (Oracle) APIs (REST API) Development Tools & Platforms: IDE (GitHub Copilot, VSCODE) Salesforce Security and Monitoring: Secure Coding (Veracode) Authentication/Authorization (CA SiteMinder) Log & Monitoring (Azure AppInsights, Elastic) About MetLife Recognized on Fortune magazine's list of the 2025 "World's Most Admired Companies" and Fortune World’s 25 Best Workplaces™ for 2024, MetLife , through its subsidiaries and affiliates, is one of the world’s leading financial services companies; providing insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management to individual and institutional customers.
