About the Role

Software Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers across multiple projects.
• Drive technical design, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Design, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Own project planning, sprint execution, resource allocation, and delivery commitments.
• Review code, ensure quality standards, and enforce engineering processes.
• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineering talent.
• Ensure system scalability, performance, reliability, and security.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–12 years of software development experience with at least 3–5 years in an engineering leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, and cloud-native applications.
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of databases, APIs, microservices, and DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver complex projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience handling distributed systems and high-availability platforms.
• Background in startup or fast-paced product environments.
