Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

.As an SDET, you will play a key role in ensuring software quality and reliability across complex systems. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests and frameworks for both backend and dashboard components. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence product quality through rigorous testing, continuous process improvements, and technical leadership. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment while mentoring peers and applying best practices in software development and test automation. You will help drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines and ensure robust and scalable solutions that meet business objectives.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend and dashboard systems
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to identify automation needs and define quality standards
- Monitor automation metrics to drive continuous improvement in processes and software quality
- Estimate efforts, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to meet automation schedules
- Lead by example, promoting programmatic best practices, code quality, and test-driven development
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers and junior team members
Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in test automation for backend systems and dashboards
- Expert-level programming skills in one or more languages such as Java or Python
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, OO design, and code coverage
- Proven experience in delivering and maintaining automation for large-scale products or components
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, tools, and workflows
- Experience with version control systems like Git or Bitbucket
- Working knowledge of SQL, AWS, and database systems
- Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams effectively
