Job Description

We are looking for a Social Media Executive to work with a leading advertising agency in Chennai!

Job Summary:

The Social Media Director will lead the agency’s social media strategy, creative direction, and execution across all client accounts. This role involves overseeing social media campaigns, building brand presence, driving engagement, and leading a team of strategists, content creators, and community managers to deliver measurable results.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive social media strategies aligned with clients’ brand goals and marketing objectives.
  • Identify emerging social trends, platforms, and technologies to keep the agency at the forefront of innovation.
  • Lead data-driven content planning and performance measurement across all social channels.

2. Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and mentor a team of social media managers, strategists, and content creators.
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and media teams to ensure social-first thinking in all campaigns.
  • Review and approve social media calendars, campaigns, and creative content.

3. Client Servicing & Growth

  • Act as the senior point of contact for clients on all social media-related matters.
  • Present strategy decks, campaign ideas, and performance reports to clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support in pitching for new clients.

4. Content & Campaign Oversight

  • Oversee ideation, creation, and execution of high-quality, platform-specific content.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all client platforms.
  • Supervise influencer marketing campaigns and paid social media strategies.

5. Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign KPIs, analyze performance data, and provide actionable insights.
  • Optimize strategies based on performance metrics and audience feedback.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and client review.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in social media marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (preferably in an agency).
  • Strong understanding of all major social platforms (Meta, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
  • Expertise in paid social, content strategy, community management, and influencer marketing.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar.
