Ship Repair National Service Head Technical & Mechanical Repairs

leads teams, oversees complex overhauls (engines, hydraulics, electrical) across various vessels, manages budgets, ensures quality/safety (), liaises with clients/authorities, develops technical strategies, and drives innovation for national marine fleet maintenance and upgrades, requiring extensive marine engineering experience and leadership. 

• Technical Oversight:

  Direct complex repairs, major engine overhauls, propulsion systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

• Team Leadership:

  Manage, train, and mentor large teams of marine engineers, mechanics, and technicians.

• Project & Operations Management:

  Plan, schedule, and execute repair projects, control costs, manage resources, and prepare progress reports.

• Quality & Safety:

  Enforce strict safety (HSE) and quality standards (Classification Society rules), conduct inspections, and maintain documentation.

• Client & Stakeholder Relations:

  Act as a key liaison with ship owners, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and internal departments.

• Strategy & Innovation:

  Develop long-term maintenance plans, analyze performance, identify new technologies, and ensure compliance. 

• Education:

  Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering.

• Experience:

  10+ years in marine repair, with 5+ years in senior leadership/management.

• Skills:

  Deep understanding of marine engines, electrical/hydraulic systems, troubleshooting, project management, and leadership. 

• This is a senior, national-level role, often reporting to senior management or a Director, with responsibility for overall service delivery and technical excellence for a country's marine/naval assets or commercial fleet
