We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated UPS Installation and Service Engineer to join our growing team. Position Summary The UPS Installation and Service Engineer will be responsible for the on-site installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and repair of Uninterruptible Power Supply systems and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of UPS systems and electrical fundamentals, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring operational continuity for our clients. Key Responsibilities Installation and Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission new UPS systems and battery backups at customer sites according to manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and testing of UPS systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they cause failures. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to UPS units, batteries, power distribution units (PDUs), and bypass panels. Conduct emergency repairs as needed. Customer Support: Provide expert technical support to customers via phone or on-site visits. Guide clients on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed service records, logs, and reports for all installation and service activities. Submit timely field service reports. Customer Interaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing clear communication and professional service at all times. Collaboration: Coordinate with the internal team, including sales and project management, to ensure projects are executed smoothly and customer expectations are met. Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all company and government health and safety regulations when working on electrical systems. Training: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new product offerings through continuous training and development. Qualifications Education: Diploma in Electrical, ITI Experience: Minimum of 1-2+ years of hands-on experience in the installation and servicing of 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems. Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of UPS systems, batteries, PDU's, and transfer switches. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic components. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals. Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, with a methodical approach to resolving technical challenges. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers. Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical work or UPS technology are a plus. Work Environment: Ability to work independently in a field service environment and travel to customer sites as required.
