About the Role

Spark Plug Digital is seeking a Senior Video Editor with a film industry background, someone who blends cinematic storytelling with technical finesse and design sensibility.

This role calls for a seasoned creative professional who has spent over a decade crafting ad films, digital content, web series, and branded campaigns. The ideal candidate not only edits but also thinks like a storyteller and visual designer, understanding composition, rhythm, typography, and tone.

You’ll be working with a team that produces Spark Plug’s own IPs (Do You Mind and The Bhargavi Show: Unfiltered), national campaigns, and digital films under the Spark Audio label.

We’re looking for someone with expertise in DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite, and design tools like Canva, and who is open to experimenting with AI-assisted video workflows to push creative boundaries.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesI. Elite Editorial & Narrative Mastery

I. Elite Editorial & Narrative Mastery

• Creative Directorship in Edit:

Craft emotionally resonant stories from raw footage that often surpass the original storyboard.
Maintain a strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and visual tone suitable for cinematic ads, branded films, and web content.

• Multi-Format Storytelling:

Handle varied content formats with equal excellence:

• Ad Films & Commercials: Short-form, high-impact brand storytelling.
• Web & Digital Series: Long-form narrative flow and continuity.
• Podcasts (Audio/Video): Structure conversational narratives and ensure clean, immersive sound.
• Creative Collaboration:

Present edits to clients and creative directors with confidence.
Interpret feedback clearly, refine output, and maintain balance between creativity and brand objectives.

II. Advanced Technical & Finishing Expertise

• Editing Suite Mastery:

Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, managing multi-camera timelines, color workflows, and motion integration.
Skilled in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Max, and Canva for design integration, transitions, and quick visual compositions.

• Digital Intermediate (DI) & Color Science:

Advanced experience in DaVinci Resolve for professional color correction and look development, maintaining brand tone across outputs.

• Finishing & Delivery:

Deliver technically perfect masters for broadcast, OTT, and social platforms with consistency in export standards, codec optimization, and sound balance.

• Audio Expertise:

Skilled in Adobe Audition or Pro Tools for sound design, mixing, and mastering to meet international LUFS standards.

• AI-Driven Editing:

Experiment with or implement AI tools (Runway ML, Pika Labs, Synthesia, Kaiber) for efficiency, creative enhancement, and post-production innovation.

III. Motion Graphics, Animation & VFX Command

• Motion Graphics Integration:

Expert in Adobe After Effects for compositing, kinetic typography, transitions, and branded motion graphics.

• 3D & Animation Integration:
• Proficient with 3ds Max, Adobe Max, and basic understanding of Blender for 3D asset management and animation pipeline coordination.
• Collaborate with Cinema 4D and Maya artists for realistic compositing and render integration.
• VFX & Compositing:

Skilled in roto, tracking, keying, and cleanup, ensuring seamless VFX integration for commercial-grade outputs.

• Graphic Design Understanding:

Strong grasp of layout, color theory, typography, and composition to maintain visual harmony across motion and static design.
Create or adapt graphics when needed using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, and CorelDRAW to complement edited visuals or social adaptations.

IV. Post-Production Leadership & Workflow Optimization

• Workflow Management:

Design and implement efficient post-production pipelines, from ingest and proxy to mastering and archiving.

• Technical Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve complex software or codec issues during the edit and render process.

• Leadership & Mentorship:

Guide and mentor junior editors and graphic designers, maintaining Spark Plug Digital’s storytelling and design standards.

• Collaboration:

Work closely with Creative Heads, DOPs, Colorists, and Motion Artists to align creative and technical vision.

• Budget & Time Management:

Ensure deliverables meet quality benchmarks and deadlines within defined production budgets.

• Maintain structured file organization and archive systems for all post-production assets.
• Stay current with AI, editing, and design trends across global content industries.
• Approach every project with a cinematic eye and design sensitivity, balancing craft and brand storytelling.

Experience Required

• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in video editing and post-production for film, advertising, or digital content.
• Proven ability to work as both an editor and a design collaborator.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic storytelling, brand integration, and creative leadership.
• Experience managing post-production teams and design workflows simultaneously.
