Role Description

Senior Software Engineer

This role is for someone who takes ownership, questions weak designs, and builds software meant to last.

You will play a key role in designing, developing and strengthening Zyarex’s backend platforms and internal systems.

Experience requirement

• 4 to 6 years of professional software development experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain

  backend systems

  using

  PHP and Laravel

• Build scalable, secure and maintainable

  APIs, services and modules

• Work on

  core platforms

  such as billing, provisioning, automation and internal tools
• Optimise database design, performance, and system reliability
• Collaborate with operations, product and leadership on system architecture decisions
• Review code, improve standards and enforce engineering discipline
• Identify technical debt and proactively propose long-term solutions
• Document architecture, workflows and system logic clearly
• Take ownership of features from design to production

Technical Skill (Must Have)

• Strong proficiency in

  PHP

• Extensive hands-on experience with

  Laravel Framework

• Solid understanding of

  RESTful APIs

• Strong experience with

  MySQL / PostgreSQL

• Experience with

  authentication, authorization and security best practices

• Comfortable with

  Linux-based environments

• Experience with

  Git

  and collaborative development workflows

Technical Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience with

  queue systems

  (Redis, RabbitMQ, Laravel Queues)
• Familiarity with

  Docker

  and containerised deployments
• Understanding of

  cloud infrastructure concepts

  (AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-prem)
• Experience with

  billing systems, automation engines or SaaS platforms

• Exposure to

  CI/CD pipelines

• Basic frontend familiarity (Blade, Vue.js, React)
