Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Manual Testing

Job Title :

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on manual testing of Windows-based software applications, ensuring functional and non functional requirements are met.
• Set up, configure, and maintain test environments including Windows client and server systems.
• Participate in the development of test plans, test cases, and test strategies in collaboration with cross functional teams.
• Execute test cases and record results clearly, identifying and reporting software defects in a structured and timely manner.
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test reports and defect logs.
• Work closely with development teams during sprints to ensure proper test coverage and timely delivery.
• Estimate testing effort and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Install and configure application builds and assist with deployment activities as needed.
• Follow structured test methodologies with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying testing process gaps and suggesting enhancements.
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software testing, particularly in Windows-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of test case design, test execution, and defect reporting.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and the ability to validate backend data using queries.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Experience in installing and configuring software builds in Windows environments.
• Proven experience working in an Agile development environment.
  

Desirable Skills

• ISTQB/ISEB certifications in software testing are a plus.
• Knowledge of Virtual Machines and tools such as VMware or VirtualBox.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, including database validation and query execution.
• Basic understanding of IP networking, Windows domain environments, and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance best practices.
