Role Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and user-focused QA Engineer to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring that our portal delivers outstanding experience for students as they track their learning progress, watch courses, and engage in other educational activities. You will collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to validate features, ensure platform stability, and refine the user experience. Your work will directly contribute to making the learning process intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution:

• Execute comprehensive manual tests for functional, usability, regression, and exploratory testing to ensure a seamless student experience.
• Validate new features, including course tracking, learning progress dashboards, and user interactions, for functionality and usability.
• Test platform stability under various user scenarios, including heavy usage, multi-device access, and edge cases.

Bug Identification & Reporting:

• Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools, ensuring concise and actionable reporting.
• Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure updates do not disrupt core features such as progress tracking and video playback.

User-Centered Validation:

• Ensure that all user-facing components are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with KnowledgeCity’s design and usability standards.
• Validate student workflows, from logging in and watching courses to tracking achievements, ensuring frictionless navigation.

Collaboration & Feedback:

• Work closely with developers and UX designers to refine user-centric features and interactions.
• Provide actionable feedback on user experience, system performance, and feature implementation.

Documentation & Process Improvement:

• Develop and maintain detailed test cases, documenting outcomes and potential improvements.
• Create a repository of test plans and cases tailored to various user roles, such as students, instructors, and administrators.

Performance & Accessibility Testing:

• Use browser and developer tools to evaluate front-end performance and address accessibility requirements.
• Validate compatibility across devices and browsers to ensure a consistent user experience.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Extensive experience in manual testing for web applications, with a focus on user experience validation.
• Proficiency with testing tools like Postman for API validation and browser DevTools for front-end debugging.
• Basic understanding of database queries (e.g., SELECT, JOIN) to verify data integrity.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to identify front-end issues and propose solutions.
• Knowledge of QA best practices, including test case creation and defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Trello).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience testing UX/UI components and workflows for educational or learning management systems is a plus.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and testing techniques.
