Senior QA Engineer (Hybrid: Manual & Automation)

Overview:

Quality Assurance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute

  comprehensive test plans and test cases

  for functional, performance, usability, and security testing.
• Perform

  manual testing

  for exploratory, usability, and edge-case scenarios where automation is less effective.
• Implement and maintain

  automated test suites

  using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
• Leverage

  AI-powered testing tools

  (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Functionize, Katalon with AI plugins, GitHub Copilot for test scripting) to optimize coverage, reduce cycle times, and improve defect detection.
• Design, execute, and automate tests for API endpoints using tools such as

  Postman or similar

  , ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance of backend services.
• Conduct

  feature, UAT & regression testing

  to ensure backward compatibility and system stability after updates.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to

  understand requirements

  and

  define testing strategies

  early in the development cycle.
• Perform

  root cause analysis

  and work with cross-functional teams to resolve defects efficiently.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Maintain clear

  documentation

  of test results, defects, and testing methodologies in the team’s tracking tools.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in QA, automation, and AI to continually improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).

• 3+ years of experience

  in software testing within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Proven expertise in

  both manual and automated testing

  across web and/or mobile applications.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
• Familiarity with

  AI-assisted testing tools

  and a willingness to learn and adopt new AI-driven QA practices.
• Strong knowledge of

  testing methodologies

  , test case design, and defect management processes.
• Basic understanding of

  programming languages

  such as JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, ReactJS, or NextJS.
• Strong

  analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

  with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present findings clearly.

• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, k6, or Gatling.
• Exposure to security testing fundamentals.
• CI/CD pipeline integration for automated tests (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and cross-browser/device testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
