Senior Product Manager - UPI

Role Overview

Our client is launching a new UPI line of business and is looking for a Senior Product Manager with deep expertise in the UPI ecosystem. The role involves owning product strategy, roadmap, and execution across consumer and merchant payment flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the UPI product roadmap (P2P, P2M, Autopay, mandates, collect).
• Lead integrations with banks, PSPs, TPAPs, and manage NPCI certification.
• Drive execution across onboarding, device binding, payments, refunds, and dispute flows.
• Improve reliability, success rates, and overall payment experience using data insights.
• Ensure compliance with NPCI guidelines, RBI directives, and risk controls.
• Partner with engineering, design, risk, and operations for high-quality delivery.
• Coordinate with risk, fraud, compliance, and legal teams to design safe and scalable payment journeys.
• Work with merchant teams to build P2M flows, settlement journeys, and dispute resolution processes.
• Identify ecosystem gaps and propose innovative UPI value-added features (Lite, Credit on UPI, mandates).

Requirements

• 5–10 years of product management experience; strong hands-on exposure to UPI.
• Deep understanding of NPCI frameworks, UPI APIs, bank integrations, and certification processes.
• Strong product thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
• Experience scaling high-volume, real-time payment products is a plus.
