Senior PLC Programmer

Goose Industrial Solutions seeks experienced and driven Senior PLC Programmers to join our automation team. The ideal candidate should have in-depth experience in programming, testing, and commissioning PLC systems across industrial applications. This role requires hands-on expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage projects independently or as part of a team.

About the Role

This role involves key responsibilities in designing, developing, and implementing PLC programs for industrial automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC programs for industrial automation projects.
• Configure and program HMIs/SCADA systems in coordination with PLC logic.
• Conduct site commissioning, troubleshooting, and support during and after project deployment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, control panel layouts, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with design, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure system integration.
• Optimise control processes to improve system performance and reliability.
• Document programming and configuration details for future maintenance and updates.
• Provide training and technical support to end-users and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc).

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of industrial automation, process control systems, and communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms such as WinCC, Wonderware, or FactoryTalk is highly preferred.
• Ability to travel to project sites when required.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.
