Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior NOC Engineer responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing the performance and availability of our IT infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. This individual will play a key role in incident management, proactive monitoring, patching governance, and infrastructure optimization. The role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience with enterprise-grade monitoring and patch management tools, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams for escalations and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities/ Skillsets:

Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Proactively monitor IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud workloads) using tools such as SolarWinds, Site24x7, and Azure/AWS native monitoring.
  • Analyze trends in system alerts and performance metrics to identify recurring issues and areas for optimization.
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis and coordinate with L3 or SME teams for resolution of persistent or critical incidents.

Incident Management:

  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of incidents and service requests, ensuring SLA adherence and timely communication.
  • Drive problem management processes by identifying underlying causes and implementing preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and escalation procedures

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Ensure infrastructure monitoring tools and dashboards are optimized for visibility, performance, and accuracy.
  • Support routine maintenance activities such as server health checks, log analysis, and inventory accuracy.
  • Perform capacity planning and threshold tuning to ensure high system availability.

Configuration and Maintenance:

Automation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to automate routine NOC operations, patching workflows, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of scripts or playbooks to streamline monitoring and response activities.
  • Recommend enhancements to tools, processes, and architecture to improve resiliency and efficiency.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Act as a technical escalation point for junior NOC engineers.
  • Collaborate with cloud, network, and security teams to ensure integrated infrastructure monitoring.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports, incident summaries, and trend analyses.
  • Participate in change advisory and post-incident review meetings.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement within the monitoring and incident management processes.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to monitoring strategies, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

Scheduled Tasks:

  • Perform regular checks for antivirus compliance, patch compliance, and inventory accuracy.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing activities as required.

Technical Skillsets:

  • Hands-on with SolarWinds, Site24x7, Moog soft or equivalent monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and virtualization platforms.
  • Exposure to patch management tools (SCCM, WSUS, ManageEngine, Intune, or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their monitoring/alerting systems.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL concepts and incident/change/problem management practices.

Desirable Responsibilities:

1. Will be responsible for updating, sharing daily, weekly & monthly tickets tracker & analysis.

2. Defining key management routines and governance strategy to ensure effective business process execution.

3. Initiate improvements in tools, requirements gathering, processes, and people.

4. Ability to work in rotational shift & depending on business needs.

5. Prior work experience in MNC & matrix organization.

Qualifications/ certifications

Essential Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field

2. Should at least have 8+ years of total working experience in related field.

Certifications:

Preferred CCNA, CompTIA Server+, or Microsoft/Azure Administrator.

Desirable Skills:

1. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a NOC or IT support environment.

2. Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Site24x7, or similar solutions.

3. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, virtualization, and networks.

4. Proficiency in diagnostic tools like Ping, Telnet, TraceRt, and RDP etc.

5. Ability to perform initial troubleshooting on servers, network devices, and cloud platforms.

6. Good communication and documentation skills.

7. Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.

8. A problem-solving mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

9. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

10. Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving IT technologies and processes.

11. Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization.

12. Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

13. Experience with scripting or automation tools to streamline monitoring tasks.

14. Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking concepts (LAN/WAN).

Working Conditions:

1. Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional remote work and travel to other company locations as needed.

2. Schedule: Full-time position with occasional after-hours support for critical issues or scheduled maintenance.

3. Should be open for 24x7 US Rotational shifts
