Senior Lab Technician

Key Job Responsibilities1. Laboratory Operations Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments. Prepare samples for testing (e.g., biological, chemical, environmental, or industrial samples). Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and repeatability. 2. Testing & Analysis Conduct tests, experiments, or measurements according to protocols. Record and interpret data accurately. Compare results against standards or control samples. 3. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed logs of experiments and results. Prepare technical reports or summaries for supervisors, researchers, or regulatory bodies. Ensure all records meet compliance and audit requirements. 4. Safety & Compliance Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines (OSHA, ISO, GLP/GMP, etc.). Handle hazardous materials properly. Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-free work environment. 5. Collaboration Work closely with scientists, researchers, or medical staff. Assist in designing experiments or troubleshooting technical issues. Support training of new lab staff or interns. Essential SkillsTechnical Skills Proficiency with lab equipment (microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, PCR machines, etc.). Knowledge of laboratory techniques (titration, chromatography, microscopy, etc.). Familiarity with relevant software (data analysis tools, LIMS systems). Analytical Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to identify anomalies or inconsistencies in data. Problem-solving for experimental or procedural issues. Organizational Skills Time management to handle multiple tests and deadlines. Effective sample labeling and tracking. Prioritizing urgent tasks without sacrificing accuracy.
