Job Description

Senior HR Generalist

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, an MBA, exposure to U.S. HR processes, and relevant HR certifications. Experience working within a multinational corporation (MNC) is strongly preferred.

As an HR Generalist, you will serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers, supporting employee relations, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and HR operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with U.S. employment laws, maintaining accurate HR records, supporting employee lifecycle processes, and contributing to HR initiatives and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including escalations, conflict resolution, and employee counseling.
  • Advise managers and employees on performance management, corrective actions, workplace policies, and HR best practices.
  • Foster a positive, compliant, and respectful work environment aligned with organizational values

Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding for U.S. hires, ensuring compliance and a smooth employee experience.

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Support employee lifecycle activities including promotions, transfers, role changes, and exits.
  • Manage employee separations, including exit discussions, documentation, and coordination with relevant teams.
  • Support retention efforts where appropriate and escalate sensitive cases to leadership.
  • Track attrition trends and support initiatives to maintain controlled attrition levels.

Compliance & Policies

  • Ensure adherence to U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
  • Coordinate and track mandatory compliance training, including harassment prevention and workplace conduct programs.

Benefits Administration

  • Support and administer U.S. employee benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, and wellness initiatives.
  • Manage open enrollment activities and respond to employee benefit-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate with payroll and external vendors to ensure benefits accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct periodic HR and benefits audits.

HR Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records within HRIS systems.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics related to headcount, attrition, compliance, and employee data.
  • Support HR initiatives, programs, and continuous process improvements.

Performance Management

  • Support performance review cycles, including documentation, timelines, and follow-ups.
  • Provide managers with relevant HR data and guidance to support effective people management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • MBA or Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of HR Generalist experience, supporting core HR functions end to end, preferably within a multinational corporation (MNC).
  • Hands-on experience working with U.S. HR processes and employees.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Certification in HR-related disciplines (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus.

  • Availability to work night shifts aligned with U.S. time zones.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to support business needs and additional HR initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of HR Generalist experience supporting core HR functions end to end.
  • Hands-on experience working with U.S. HR processes and employees.
