Senior FPGA Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior FPGA Engineer to join our core research and development team. This role is central to advancing the performance, efficiency, and capabilities of our FPGA-based computing platforms. You will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in hardware acceleration for AI/ML models and autonomous systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• FPGA Architecture Research:

  Conduct research and design high-performance, power-efficient FPGA architectures specifically for accelerating cutting-edge AI/ML models (e.g., CNNs, Transformers, etc.) and real-time control systems.

• Toolchain Development & Optimization:

  Work closely with the software team to enhance and extend the capabilities of our proprietary toolchains (Gati, Periplex) to improve performance, latency, and resource utilization for generated hardware logic.

• Low-Level Implementation:

  Design, implement, and verify critical IP cores and system components using traditional Hardware Description Languages (HDL: Verilog/VHDL) and High-Level Synthesis (HLS) techniques.

• Performance Analysis:

  Develop and implement rigorous methodologies for benchmarking and profiling FPGA designs, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing the hardware-software stack.

• System Integration:

  Oversee the integration of complex FPGA designs within the complete system, ensuring seamless interaction with embedded processors (like ARM/RISC-V) and operating systems (like embedded Linux).

• Innovation & Publication:

  Stay abreast of the latest developments in FPGA technology, computer architecture, and AI acceleration, proposing innovative solutions and contributing to patents or publications.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in ECE, VLSI, or a related field.
• Experience: 0 to 3 years of industry experience in FPGA design, architecture, and research, particularly for high-performance computing or embedded systems.
• Core FPGA Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Verilog/VHDL and deep understanding of advanced FPGA features (DSPs, BRAMs, UltraRAM, specialized routing).
• Tool Flow Expertise: Hands-on experience with major vendor tool flows (e.g., Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Quartus) and synthesis, placement, and routing optimization techniques.
• Acceleration: Proven experience in designing hardware accelerators for parallel data processing, signal processing, or AI/ML inference.
• HLS: Strong background in using High-Level Synthesis (HLS) tools to map algorithms to efficient hardware structures.
• System Knowledge: Understanding of computer architecture, memory hierarchies, and interface protocols (e.g., PCIe, AXI, DDR).
