Shift Timing:

1:00 PM - 10:00 PM IST (Flexible to work off-hours/weekends as required)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

Firewall Engineer

with deep expertise in implementing, upgrading, and maintaining enterprise firewall solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and cloud firewall technologies, along with a strong understanding of enterprise security, networking, and scripting/automation.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and build firewall solutions from scratch.
Plan and execute firewall upgrades, updates, and migrations.
Install, configure, maintain, and decommission Checkpoint and Fortinet firewalls.
Work with hardware appliances and virtual firewalls in hybrid cloud environments.
Configure and manage firewall policies and controls via management servers.
Monitor network activity and enforce security policies and standards.
Troubleshoot network and firewall-related issues, including connectivity drops.
Analyze network traffic and ensure rule configuration aligns with security best practices.
Administer virtual private networks (VPNs).
Conduct regular software and security updates across firewall platforms.
Respond to security incidents and investigate potential breaches.
Participate in security audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for firewall configurations and policies.
Design and implement security solutions to secure enterprise networks.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support their technical development.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with:

Checkpoint.
Fortinet.
Palo Alto.
Cloud Firewalls (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Solid understanding of enterprise security architecture and advanced networking:

Routing, Switching, Load Balancing.
Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF.

Familiarity with scripting/automation tools:

Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.

Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and CLI.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to support off-hours and weekend work as needed.
