Description
Job Purpose Overview: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems for concrete pumps, including electric boom pumps, as well as batching plants. He should have experience in the electrical design and development of heavy mobile construction equipment / machinery. Skilled in designing and implementing motor control systems, VFDs, and PLC-based automation for boom pump operations. Well-versed in low-voltage (12V/24V DC) circuits, three-phase power systems, and electro-hydraulic control integration. Hands-on experience with electrical schematics, power distribution, and compliance with IEC and NEC standards for heavy machinery. Key Responsibilities Electrical System Design Develop and design electrical systems for concrete pumps (electric boom pumps) / batching plants/ excavators. Prepare detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and diagrams using CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, etc. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into machinery. Experience on Auto electrical (low voltage 24V./12 V DC) circuits, Familiarity with three phase circuit and controls Compliance and Safety Ensure that all electrical systems comply with industry standards, including IEC, NEC, and other safety regulations. Review designs for compliance with safety standards, reliability, and operational efficiency. Automation & Control Systems Design and implement automation systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for control of machinery. Develop motor control solutions using VFDs, servo drives, and other control systems. Experience of working on mobile controllers. Conversant with Electro hydraulics and knowledge of proportional valve and integration with controllers. Power System Management Design electrical power systems including motor sizing, power distribution, and UPS/generator backup for batching plants and electric boom pumps. Perform power consumption analysis and provide recommendations to enhance energy efficiency. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide technical support for resolving electrical issues during production, assembly, and field operations. Perform root cause analysis for electrical components and suggest improvements in the electrical circuits to eliminate/minimize the problems. Develop and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and performance. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with design, production, teams to ensure the electrical systems meet design and operational requirements. Example: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Experience Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical design for mobile construction equipment, preferably concrete pumps or boom pumps or similar heavy machinery such as excavators.
