You will not only contribute your design expertise to impactful projects but also play a pivotal role in shaping the design culture and defining how design is effectively integrated into the product development lifecycle for this growing team and its collaborations across Ford.What we're looking for: Our Senior UX Interaction Designers are experts in creating beautiful, usable solutions based on unbiased user research. They are at the forefront of setting strategic design direction for our financial suite of products and championing the voice of the user throughout our organization.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:
  • Design lean, iterative, and development-ready solutions that can scale for the future, while understanding current technology constraints.
  • Think deeply about the user experience, balanced with business goals, to inform your designs.
  • Lead the product team (Product Manager, Project Manager, Software Engineers) through the user-centered design process with collaborative workshops for discovery and ideation.
  • Apply user research insights to drive product design and strategy, and help your team understand why and how to build better experiences.
  • Plan and execute user research in collaboration with internal stakeholders, and share findings broadly across the organization.
  • Actively contribute to establishing and refining design processes, best practices, and integration strategies within our new India-based design team, ensuring design is a core component of the product development lifecycle.
  • Help foster a collaborative, innovative, and user-centric design culture within the new team.

Qualifications

What you’re good at:
  • Crafting beautiful and usable designs for digital products by applying your domain expertise, deep research findings, and collaborating with peers across the product organization.
  • Conducting user research and experiments from planning to synthesis.
  • Playing an active role in advocating for a Human-Centered Design process and creating a collaborative environment.
  • Engaging and inspiring the product organization about our customers' experiences through powerful storytelling of the human-centered design process, research insights, and customer journeys.
Skills you should have:
  • Demonstrable experience in UX design and research in all phases across a variety of projects and mediums.
  • Deep expertise in Interaction & Visual Design, Information Architecture, UX Writing, and UX Research.
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other industry-standard design and prototyping software.
  • Ability to visualize and test concepts at varying levels of fidelity – from napkin sketches and sacrificial concepts to wireframes, interactive & functional prototypes, and development-ready assets.
  • Experience synthesizing research findings into actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and design solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in user experience, human-computer interaction, interaction design, service design, graphic design, or a digital design-related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 4+ years of experience as a UX/Interaction/Product Designer working across a breadth of digital media.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or significantly contributing to the human-centered design process within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in user experience, human-computer interaction, interaction design, service design, graphic design, or a digital design-related field.
  • Additional Bachelor's or Master's degree in sociology, anthropology, psychology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as a UX or Interaction Designer.
  • Experience working in globally distributed teams.
  • Experience in helping establish or scale design team operations or processes.
