Senior Data Engineer

.We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems that power data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and accessible for reporting and analytics. You will play a key role in improving data architecture, optimizing ETL/ELT workflows, and implementing best practices for data quality and governance. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern cloud platforms, big data technologies, and BI tools, contributing directly to actionable insights and business growth. You will collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment, helping shape the company's data strategy and future capabilities.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using cloud-based tools such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or Apache Airflow
- Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ensure timely and accurate data delivery
- Build and maintain data warehouses, lakes, and data models in platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or Redshift
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and governance through automated validation frameworks and monitoring
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, BI teams, and other stakeholders to meet analytical and reporting requirements
- Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, SaaS systems, and on-premises databases
- Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, applying best practices in query tuning and architecture
- Document data pipelines, models, and architecture decisions; promote CI/CD, version control, and Agile methodologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-8 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role, with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex data systems
- Strong experience with cloud ecosystems: Azure (ADF, Synapse, ADLS, Databricks) and/or AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda)
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data processing and transformation
- Experience with BI and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, including data modeling and performance optimization
- Deep understanding of data architecture principles, big data technologies, and scalable data infrastructure design
- Experience with data pipelines, workflow orchestration, data lakes/warehouses, and CI/CD integration
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, ensuring data quality and accuracy
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Bonus: Knowledge of Data Mesh, Lakehouse architectures, and data cataloging or lineage tools
