Description : We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Costing / Proposal Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality technical and commercial proposals in response to client inquiries and tenders. Your strong analytical skills, cost estimation expertise, and deep understanding of industry practices will play a critical role in securing new business and supporting project success. As a key member of the pre-sales and business development team, you will work closely with engineering, procurement, project management, and finance departments to ensure accurate and competitive proposals aligned with client requirements and company objectives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Analysis: Review product, process specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation to understand the scope and requirements of the customer. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify key cost drivers and potential risks 2. Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for products, considering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor services, and other associated expenses. Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and other sources to enhance the accuracy of cost projections. 3. Cost Analysis: Conduct cost variance analysis to compare estimated costs with actual project expenditures. Identify and investigate discrepancies, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. 4. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather relevant information and ensure alignment between cost estimates and project plans. Participate in meetings and discussions to address cost-related concerns and provide insights to support decision-making. 5. Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks that could affect project costs. Collaborate with project teams to develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies. 6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, assumptions, and methodologies. Prepare and present cost reports to management and project stakeholders. 7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the cost sheets, process and other activities. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost sheet preparation. 8. Initiative: Taking proactive steps to address issues without always waiting for guidance. Design Optimization: Evaluate and optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address production challenges and streamline processes. 12. CAD Modelling and Simulation: Utilize the Solid Works Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create 3D models and 2D drawings of fixtures and gauges. Conduct simulations (Pro cast & Solid cast), and analyses to ensure the design meets the product, process functional, and performance requirements. 13. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to align product development with overall business goals.
