Whizz HR is hiring Conference Manager to work with a leading exhibition company in Mumbai. Job Title: Group Head – Conferences Job Location: Mumbai Role Overview: Conceptualise, develop, plan and organise knowledge-based conferences as part of international B2B exhibitions and standalone. To manage the entire process from planning to execution and post-conference analysis. We’re looking for a candidate with a strong conference background, and someone who’s a self-starter with a creative bent. Knowledge in the fields of Infrastructure, Smart Cities, 5G and technology will be a plus. KRAs: · To take the lead in conference programme construction · Conceptualize and Design conference content, which includes theme, agenda, topics, concept and marketing messages in consultation with key stakeholders · Identifying relevant speakers, invite and coordinate with them till the completion of the event. The speakers are identified under 3 categories: star speakers who become the showcase for the event, speakers keeping in mind long-term business interests and speakers who are inducted for sponsorship / commercial interests · Research important industry topics and keep up-to-date with trends to ensure streams of content are relevant to our audience · Skillfully persuading speakers to be present at one or more conferences · Liaising with confirmed speakers to ensure relevant presentations are collected · Attending relevant industry and competitor events · Identifying Jury for Smart Cities Awards, inducting them on the jury and coordination · Identifying partner organizations, reaching out to them and coordination · Invitation letters/pitches for government leaders/speech and message writing, and setting up meetings when required · Communication / coordination with advisory board members · Extracting relevant messages for all marketing collaterals: brochure, leaflets, website, mailers, social media, etc. · Running the conference on the day, including opening the conference and on-site speaker management · Build key industry relationships with key commercial and non-commercial stakeholders and associations · Production of post conference reports and knowledge papers · Establish long term relationships with the industry associations and govt ministries Research relevant topics and sessions Liaise with nodal ministries, govt departments, and PSUs · Identify key players and forge relationships across the industry · Develop and in-depth knowledge of the industry in order to drive the direction of the exhibition and conference · Identify leading speakers from government, multi-nationals, MSMEs and startups to ensure a diverse mix · Ensure that no opportunity goes untapped or proactively pursued · Put Exhibitions India Group at the forefront of the industry · Research and guide the organization on changing trends in the industry · Undertake any other duties commensurate with this position as determined by the organization · Adopt and sustain a flexible approach, and contribute as and when required in order to meet organizational objectives · Undertake training as required to efficiently perform the duties of this role · This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive; it is issued as a framework to outline the main areas of responsibility at the time of writing · It is inevitable over time to time that the emphasis of this job will change, and the candidate will be required to adapt accordingly. Technical Skills & Qualifications: ● B.A./B.Sc., or equivalent working experience ● 9+ years of experience in conference management ● Excellent language and communications skills ● Strong Business Development & Networking skills ● Market Research & the ability to self-motivate ● Basic Knowledge of the latest digital marketing trends ● Sense of ownership and pride in your performance, and its impact on the company’s success ● Experience in the infrastructure, smart cities and technology sectors will be preferred.
