Job Description

CMDB Analyst
Key responsibilities:

Proposes and agrees with the SACM manager the asset and CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions; ensures the configuration system users comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.
Manages Asset and CMDB/SURE, central libraries, common codes and data; ensures regular housekeeping of the asset and CMDB/SURE Tools.
Uses the CMDB/SURE to facilitate impact assessment for RFCs and to ensure that implemented changes are as authorised.
Performs configuration audits to check that the physical and virtualised Network inventory is consistent with the asset and CMDB/SURE standards and initiates and reports on any necessary corrective actions. ( Notes: Send CI anomalies reports to Optus Data Source owners for correction and advises SACM on CI aging reports).
Creates and populates CMDB/SURE libraries.
Provide information on the status of CI’s and records, store and distribute asset and configuration management issues.
Participate a weekly CMDB forum which:
- Tracks ongoing issues impacting the efficacy of the CMDB/SURE solution with relevant issue owners and the SACM manager through to resolution or escalation as appropriate.
- Discusses and tracks any relevant Continuous Improvement or other initiatives designed to improve the efficacy of the CMDB/SURE solution with relevant owners
- Presents relevant reporting on health and performance of the CMDB/SURE solution with relevant stakeholders such as the SACM manager
