Required Skills & Experience: Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in ColdFusion development (CFML). Proven expertise with ColdFusion versions 10, 11, 2016, 2018, or newer. Strong understanding of MVC frameworks (e.g., FW/1, ColdBox) and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles in ColdFusion. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing, maintaining, troubleshooting our customers critical ColdFusion applications, ensuring their stability and performance during our strategic migration. This role requires a strong understanding of ColdFusion best practices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with customers internal development and operations teams. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Enhancements & Refinements: Implement enhancements and feature requests for ColdFusion applications as required. Optimize existing ColdFusion code for efficiency, scalability, and security. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to established standards. Application Maintenance & Support: Perform regular maintenance, bug fixes, and performance tuning on existing ColdFusion applications. Monitor application health, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime. Respond to and resolve production incidents and user-reported issues in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with internal support teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems. Documentation: Create and update technical documentation for ColdFusion applications, including system architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting guides. Document solutions to recurring issues and best practices for future reference. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with existing development teams (including PHP developers) to understand application dependencies and ensure smooth operations during the transition phase. Communicate effectively with project managers, stakeholders, and other team members regarding progress, challenges, and solutions. o Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams as needed, particularly regarding the intricacies of the ColdFusion codebase. Database Interaction: Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for various database systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL) used by ColdFusion applications. Ensure data integrity and performance of database interactions. Security: Adhere to security best practices and implement necessary measures to protect sensitive data within ColdFusion applications. Other nice to have skills: Experience with PHP or other modern web technologies (Node.js, Python, Java) would be a plus, demonstrating an understanding of different development paradigms. Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud environments. Experience in the FinTech or Healthcare sector. Knowledge of Direct Debit systems or recurring payment platforms.
