Job Description

We're looking for an experienced

Senior Engineer

to guide and grow our engineering team while remaining hands-on with our core tech stack:

AWS Serverless, Node.js, and TypeScript

. This role requires strong technical leadership combined with a product-centric mindset. You'll not only write and review code but also help shape the design and architecture of the systems powering our platform.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers, driving technical delivery, mentoring, and team performance
Stay hands-on: write, review, and optimise clean, maintainable code in Node.js/TypeScript
Design scalable serverless solutions on AWS using services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, etc
Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to shape features from idea to implementation
Make architectural decisions and help define best practices for infrastructure and software development
Support DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation / CDK)
Participate in code reviews and contribute to a high-quality engineering culture
Drive a performance and outcome-oriented mindset across the team

Required Skills & Experience

Ideally, 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with some leadership experience
Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript
Deep, hands-on experience with AWS, particularly with Serverless architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.)
Although this isn't a Technical Architect role, some involvement in designing systems and solutions is key, not just in implementing them
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing, and CI/CD best practices
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-focused environment
Fluent English speaking

Nice to Have (Bonus Points)

Experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS)
Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
Background in full-stack development, especially front-end frameworks (React, etc.)
