Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Head to manage the financial operations at one of our esteemed client’s educational institutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the education sector and will be responsible for overseeing the institution’s financial management, reporting, and compliance, while regularly interacting with senior authorities at the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Manage all aspects of the institution's accounting, including financial statements, ledgers, and journals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage the institution’s budget, providing forecasts and ensuring cost control in alignment with institutional goals.
• Senior Authority Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and leadership at the educational institution. Present regular financial reports and offer strategic financial recommendations to guide decision-making.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure the institution adheres to accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws. Submit statutory returns and coordinate audits.
• Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of junior accounting staff, ensuring that financial operations are executed with precision and deadlines are met.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile various accounts, including bank statements, student fees, and vendor accounts.
• Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Manage the tax-related activities for the institution, ensuring all filings are timely and accurate.
• Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring proper salary distribution and compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Generate and present detailed financial reports—balance sheets, P&L, cash flow analysis—to senior authorities to inform strategic decisions.
• Vendor Management: Ensure timely payment of vendor bills and manage accounts payable and receivable efficiently.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Gender: Female candidates preferred.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the educational sector.
• Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Skills:
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally) and advanced Excel alongwith various AI tools.
• Deep understanding of financial management, reporting, and budgeting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to handle senior-level responsibilities.
• Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, taxation, and compliance in educational institutions.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with senior authorities and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Location Preferences:

• Candidates from the PCMC area (Pimpri-Chinchwad) are preferred for the convenience of commuting.
